FIRST TIP: One of the MOST important KEY: Choose your colors! PLAIN colors is the *KEY* Choose 2 or 3 colors as your palette.
(If you choose dots, stripes, character stuff.. etc it is an eyesore!)

For Sasha's Party, my color palette was: Light & Dark Pink with SOME purple.

TIP: If you are near a window, cover the windows with one of your party colors to cover up the "eyesore" of the outside view which will take away the central focus of your decorations. See this picture above as an example. One window is covered with pink plastic tablecloth while the other is not.

See,... with the windows covered with a solid colored tablecloth that matches the party colors it looks SO MUCH BETTER!

TIP: Make sure you decorate the ceilings, things at eye level and the table/countertops. So the party room will look complete! Don't JUST decorate the table and a wall, that's it... You need something on the ceilings too! Make sense?

DECORATING IDEAS:
#1: Blow up Balloons and use a curling ribbon to hang them upside down from the ceiling and use scissors to curl the ribbon!
#2: Do something about your lights! They're ugly and doesn't fit with your party decor! Decorate them! (I used a boa!)-- for my son's party, I used a black boa!
#3: Make sure EVERYTHING matches.. even the bowls for the chips, etc.. don't have too many different things- it will look trashy and out of whack!
#4: Use Crepe paper to decorate the ceilings.. or THICK ribbons will work too! (just more money for the ribbon)
#5: Use Christmas lights (WHITE!) to make it look more elegant.

For a "Buffet" Style Party.. HOW you position your food is VERY important!!!

Make sure you have many different layers for the food so it is not all laidout on one table on one level. It is more APPEALING to have them at many different layers! :)

Take a look at the picture on the left!

Plate setting is also important to make it feel more "ELEGANT" and makes the party "WHOLE" Layer your key colors.. add some ribbons, plate centerpieces on the plates, or nametags.

Put Napkins in the cups to make it look nice.. Better than just next to the plates.

Here are some final ideas. If you want more details about something- contact me!!! :) -Keri
