4th of July Recipe: Strawberry Pretzel Bake

4th of July Recipe:
STRAWBERRY PRETZEL BAKE!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
4 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 (16 ounce) package frozen strawberries
Mmmm! My mother-in-law makes this for special occassions.. and I LOVE IT!
#1: Start by using a blender or chopper to CHOP CHOP 1 1/2 cups of pretzels!

#2: Mix together the chopped pretzels, 3/4 cup melted butter, and 4 1/2 TBSP white sugar. Use a SPATULA to make sure it is all flat and tight together on a bottom of a 9x13 pan.

#3 (no picture sorry) Put it in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes until the pretzels are kinda toasty. Let it COOL completely (I didn't have patience so I put it in my freezer haha)

#4: Pour in 1 CUP sugar in a big bowl.

#5: Add in 2 packages of cream cheese.

#6: Add one tub of cool whip to the bowl.

#7: Whip it all together until super smooth like the picture above.. with a hand thingy (I forgot the name ha) Maybe I had too much sugar today. :)

#8: Take out the pan out of the... freezer if you were impatient like me (haha) and smooth the white mixture on top.

Mmmm.. Oh yeah! (I licked off the bowl and then the kids caught me so 2 kids each got 1 whisk, 1 got the bowl, 1 got the big spoon.)

Just beautiful, huh? Put it back in the freezer.. or if you're patient, I suppose the refridgeator would work....

#9: Chop up 1 1/2 cups of strawberries...

#10: Boil 2 cups water in a small pan and add the jello packages. STIR it all until it is smooth.

#11: Add the chopped strawberries to the pot and stir it up for a few seconds. Mmm. (I had a piece of chopped strawberry here. Delicious!)

#12: Take the pan out of the freezer again (ha) and pour the strawberry jello mixture on the top.

#13: So beautiful.... Ok.. stick it back in the refridgeator.. (or freezer ha)

ALL DONE!! Yummy!!!
